Characters - Mickey Mouse (In the Mickey Mouse Club)
Continuing the 'breaking down' of Mickey Mouse pins into more managable bite-sized pieces, here are pins where Mickey Mouse is specifically involved in the Mickey Mouse Club. This is not a group of Mickey Mouse Club pins...it is only a pin group of Mickey Mouse in his role within the context of the Television show, the Mickey Mouse Club. (Last Updated 10-8-08.)

"THE DISNEY CHANNEL"
1983-1993
Pins included are: #311, #343, #1060-Set, #1501, #1510, #1569, #1570, #1571, #1572, #1573, #4628. |
 | Pin 1490: Mickey Mouse Club 'Member' Pin
This one is slightly smaller than the pin released this past year by gallery stores. It also includes the word "member" above the logo. I don't know much more about where it was released from and the edition size. This is the original MM Club Member pin. Also has bar type clasp on it. |
 | Pin 1501: Disney Channel - 10th Anniversary Boxed Set (Mickey Mouse Club)
This pin shows Mickey from the waist up wearing a red and black striped rugby shirt.
The pin from the Disney Channel 10th Anniversary boxed pin set is an epoxy domed pin. There is a very similar pin which is a true cloisonne pin (Pin 27432). One easy way to tell the difference is that the back of the epoxy domed DC pin has a 4-line back stamp saying: "THE DISNEY CHANNEL, 1983-1993, ©DISNEY, MADE IN CHINA," while the back of the cloisonne version has a 2-line back stamp reading: "©DISNEY, MADE IN TAIWAN."
Other differences: If you look at the "M" in "Mouse," you will see that it points to Mickey's SECOND finger on the epoxy domed pin from the DC set, but points to Mickey's FIRST finger in the cloisonne version. Also, the white circle containing the word "Club" goes further beyond the border of the outer red circle in Pin 27432 than it does in Pin 1501. There are other slight differences that can be seen when you put the two pins side by side (for example, the cloisonne pin is a tiny bit smaller than the DC version).
The original description of Pin 1501 says that Pin 1501 was "handed out at trade shows in the early 90's." I don’t really know, but logic tells me that it was really the cloisonne version (and not Pin 1501) that would have been the one to be distributed at trade shows.
The pin measures 1 1/8" (28 mm) wide and 1 1/8" (29 mm) tall. The backstamp is, "THE DISNEY CHANNEL, 1983-1993, © DISNEY, MADE IN CHINA."
Pins included are: #311, #343, #1060-Set, #1501, #1510, #1569, #1570, #1571, #1572, #1573, #4628. |

This pin of the Mickey Mouse Club logo came with the purchase of the Mickey Mouse Club logo watch. This pin has a slight glossy bubble over the image rather than being flat or having a raised image. |
 | Pin 2446: Small Mickey Mouse Club Circle
This is a very little pin (less than 1/2 inch in diameter). It features Mickey's head inside a white circle, inside a red circle. The words "Mickey Mouse Club" appear in yellow on the pin. I can tell you that that is the MMC logo from the mid-seventies incarnation of the show where Lisa Whelchel of "Facts of Life" fame was a Mouseketeer. That might give you at least an idea of the pin's age. |

 | Pin 43581: Mickey Mouse Club Rodeo on Television
This pin came with a large grouping of vintage Disney pins. On the front, it appears to be a charm, but it also has a very solid pin on the back, so it is unknown if this is a converted pin or if its original intent was for possible duel purpose.
It appears to be a brass pin showing an old-time television set. On the TV is a rendering of a scene from the Mickey Mouse Club. It shows four of the Mouseketeers dressed in cowboy outfits for Rodeo Day. In the lower left corner is Mickey Mouse in his red band leader uniform. The words "Walt Disney's" is in black at the top in very small print, over the words "MICKEY MOUSE CLUB" in red. The television screen is in red.
The pin measures 1 1/8" (29 mm) wide by 1" (26 mm) tall. There are no identifing markings on the back.
Given the fact that the television screen is in color, one would think that the pin came out in the late 1960s. |
