|This is the Mad Hatter pin only from Pin 77418: Alice in Wonderland Pin Set.|
The designer of this pin clearly loved the Mad Hatter character from AiW, for the images of Mad Hatter are very accurate. The Mad Hatter is shown facing forward, right arm extended upward, right hand holding a huge tea pot, left arm extended down, left hand holding a golden spoon. Behind him is a panel showing line sketches of his face.
The background panel of this pin is two-toned, split on the diagonal. And in each section of the background there are sketches of the Mad Hatter's face in different sizes, each facing in a different direction, drawn in the color of the opposite background tone.
The muted tones of the background colors gives the impression that the center Mad Hatter figure featured in front is actually a 3D element, but this is not the case. The center Mad Hatter figure is just in front of the background, but the richer more vibrant colors of this center figure gives the illusion that there is some space between the back of the character and the background.
