This limited edition holiday pin, featuring Thumper as a pin-on-pin in front of the Canadian flag, was scheduled for a gobal release on July 10, 2002. But Disney discovered that Canadians do not celebrate the holiday any longer and the pin was not sold in the parks. The pin has since appeared on pin event trading boards, and most recently was released for sale to cast members at the Santa's Pin List Cast Event at Property Control on December 11, 2003. This version is identical to pin 15989, but does not have the Artist's Proof backstamp.
Update 11/18/02: Some of these pins were given to people who ordered the Figment Pewter sculpt from the 2002 Pin Celebration at Epcot. As an apology for the quality of the scuplture, Disney sent two of these pins with each statue. That accounts for 400 pins (out of 4500) since the edition of the statue was only 200. |
